Dengue Awareness Workshop: Connecting Communities III

In the recent forum “Dengue Jagrukta Abhiyan: Samudaik Bhagidari, Sabki Jimmewari,” organized by DNDi in collaboration with Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) in Delhi, the panel discussed the increasing spread of dengue due to climate change and advocated for comprehensive strategies to combat this escalating threat. Community members, prominent government officials, and other partners attended and immensely contributed to the workshop.

Strengthening Global Partnerships: A Dialogue with DNDi and the Swiss Embassy to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases

On 24 May 2024, DNDi and the Embassy of Switzerland in India co-hosted a dialogue at the Swiss Residence in New Delhi. The evening was dedicated to discussing innovative partnership models for research into Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). Bringing together experts and key stakeholders, including government and pharmaceutical bodies. The speakers aimed to address the unique challenges posed by NTDs through collaborative approaches.

The Transitional Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI), an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology Ministry of Science and Technology , Government of India, , has today joined forces with a not-for-profit research organization developing new treatments for neglected patients, DNDi Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative India Foundation, in a collaboration that aims to develop a safe, affordable and effective treatment for dengue, within five years.

Training of Trainers

WHO India and the National Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control Program asked the DNDi Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative India Foundation to provide a training with other trainers for health care professionals in Jharkhand. Medical officers, ANMs, laboratory technicians, and other professionals were among the 197 people who received training as part of this initiative.

Road Map 2021 – 2030

On July 30 and 31, 2019, the DNDi Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative India Foundation organised an expert consultation in New Delhi on the elimination targets and milestones for the Kala Azar Elimination Road Map from 2021 to 2030 in Southeast Asia. This consultation was attended by around 30 national and international specialists.

Training ASHAs

DNDi Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative India Foundation in collaboration with Chapra District Hospital organised a training for ASHA workers in Chapra district hospital on 24 January in 2017.This training is being conducted to increase awareness among ASHA workers on Kala Azar as Government of India has set the Kala Azar elimination target in 2017 and the role of ASHA workers is crucial in achieving this target.
